What supplements should I take to maximize muscle-growth?

There are a few supplements which can aid in muscle growth:

1)  Whey Protein - Whey protein contains all 8 essential amino acids, is relatively easy to drink, and relatively cheap compared to eating meat all day.  We recommend using a grass-fed whey protein isolate.  If that’s not an option, then choose grass-fed whey protein concentrate.  

You do NOT need to consume whey protein to build muscle, just think of whey as a powder form of chicken breast that is fast to digest.  Whey is not special, it’s just protein.

2) Creatine - Creatine is produced naturally by the body and is also found in small quantities in animal products. Creatine stored in muscle cells helps produce ATP, which is the primary energy in the body to help you lift weights.  An average human body contains between 3.5 - 4 grams of creatine per kilogram of muscle. However, it is capable of storing up to 5 grams per kilogram. The idea behind creatine supplementation is that, by saturating the body with creatine, you augment its benefits.  

You may consider taking 3-5 grams of creatine monohydrate per day, but be sure to drink plenty of water.
