What does “each side” next to each exercise mean?

When an exercise says, “each side”, you are meant to complete the prescribed number of reps on your right side, and then on your left side.

For example, in the single-arm db row, you're going to perform 8 reps on each arm. That means you do 8 reps on the right arm, followed by 8 reps on the left arm.
